Our Route Through Glacier National Park

We Showed up at the Many Glacier Ranger station, and reserved our backcountry camp sites, after a long drive from picking up Dad in Billings, Montana. Despite the slightly inclimate weather, there was a rather large line, so we ended up not getting our first choice, but we were able to pull off a several day trip, by only signing up a day in advance.

Day 1
We started from the Many Glacier campground, headed up past Ptarmigan Falls, on to Ptaramigan tunnel, with a view of Ptarmigan lake, on the south side. On the North side there was still a snow bank. We continued on, until reaching Elizabeth Lake - passing some horses and a circalong the way. Then we sunned ourselves along the Northern shore of Elizabeth Lake, before making camp.

Day 2
A short hike, through a stream on the way to camping at Mokowanis Lake.

Day 3
Back to the Elizabeth Lake. This time, on the Southern shore.

Day 3
Hell day. Up and over Red Gap Pass, on our way to Poia Lake.

Day 3
An easy hike out to the Red Gap Pass trailhead. Let Dad hangout by the gear while, I take a quick two mile jog to the Many Glaciers trailhead, to get the truck.
